Scouring Google

So naturally we did a Google search to see what people thought of the first Cupcake Camp. Some negative, some positive, all welcomed and appreciated! Monica said it best: The post-mortem is just as important as the event itself. Keep the comments/suggestions coming so that the next one will be better!

I was expecting a lot of people, but it was still overwhelming! It was impossible for me to get any cupcakes since I had two kids with me. A very nice lady brought me a couple, for which I’m very grateful. :)

I was thinking that a kids table would be helpful for those in my situation. I know I wasn’t the only one to bring kids, and competition for cupcakes was kind of scary some times. A kids table could help the next generation of bakers and eaters to enjoy this event, too!

Great ideas about the kids and improving the event that way. We’re already working on a number of ideas to better improve the crowd control issues to make it a little easier on everyone. Thanks for the suggestion… we’re totally looking for as much feedback as possible to make things as fun and accessible for everyone involved.

I think the concept was amazing but again the crowd was almost too much at times. For such a delicate snack, it brought out some violent tendencies in people! One baker did cut her cakes in half, and that was nice. Even though I was sharing with a friend, 1/4 of a cupcake was more than enough to get a taste for it without filling up so fast!

The space felt pretty empty and I thought it would be fun to accept cupcake art or photography to grace the walls for the next event. It would be a great conversation starter, and could feature some cupcake lovers who aren’t necessarily artists in the kitchen.

I’d also like to see the charity of choice change up from event to event… supporting the food bank or hunger relief services might be a more natural choice than THS?

I must say all in all it was a fun event and I would certainly go again!

I definitely love the idea of the artwork – it would for sure add to the atmosphere (perhaps even provide a calming effect for the cupcake-crazed connoisseurs :)
