We should be very proud!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2nd edition of CupcakeCampTO!

We are super happy to say that we raised $1700 for The Daily Bread Food Bank! So incredibly amazing.

On top of the cash donation, we also collected a grocery cart full of non-perishable food items!

The Daily Bread Food Bank is always looking for support, so click here to see ways to donate!

Yandira Contramaestre

Yandira Contramaestre is a civil engineer who has a passion for baking and has been baking since she was little girl. Her grandmother was her greatest mentor. Her inspiration comes from a variety of ideas from her home country Venezuela. Vibrant colours and rich flavors are her signature.

Yandira exchanges her safety boots & hard hat for bowls & stand mixer during her spare time. She is well known amongst her friends, family and piers for her cupcakes, they even put requests for flavours and toppings. FIESTA CUPCAKES was born after a year of baking almost every weekend and experimenting with new recipes.

Fiesta means Party in Spanish and it’s just an excuse to have a decadent cupcake and mingle with friends and family.

What is a Cupcake Camp?

Inquiring minds want to know…what exactly is a Cupcake Camp? Well, for the bakers it’s a place to showcase your cupcake talents, and for the eaters it’s a place to sample some dee-licious treats!

Cupcake Camp is the greatest un-conference of them all! It originated in San Francisco and is based on a BarCamp / DemoCamp, which is a participant generated social web event for designers, developers, etc. The participants sign up to demo software they’ve been working on, or give awe-inspiring presentations. As exciting as this is, remove the software demos / inspiring presentations and replace them with cupcakes and you’ve got sheer brilliance! Thanks Ariel ;)

In true DemoCamp style, there will be a presentation – the baker will have a chance to say a few words & introduce the cupcakes before they are presented to the eaters. Cupcake Camp is not a bake sale, it’s a place to taste, so eaters are first come, first served (note: 11 of every dozen cupcakes will be available for tasting)!

Some frequently asked questions…

Do we bake our cupcakes at Cupcake Camp?
No! While bake-a-thons are fun, cupcakes are to be made in your own kitchen and brought to Labspace Studio on January 25th.

Do I have to bake cupcakes or can I buy them?

Either – just remember to register your cupcakes by January 23rd and let us know if you are baking or bringing!

Why do I have to register my cupcakes?
We need to know how many tastings to schedule the day of Cupcake Camp, as we are aiming to have tastings every 20 minutes.

How can I help?
CupcakeCampTO is looking for sponsors & volunteers; if you’re interested, please contact us!

Our goal is to showcase some great cupcake talent, as well as to have a social afternoon with new & old friends!
