So, you think you can cupcake?

I was on a California adventure last week, which resulted in at stop at 2 of Beverly Hills’ famous cupcakeries: Sprinkles and Crumbs Bake Shop. The almighty Oprah raved about Sprinkles and now they’re world renowned. Crumbs originated in Manhattan and are known for their unique size (a cupcake & a half). They might be super popular, but are they really that great?

Sprinkles is nothing to write home about. I found them all sugar and no substance. They are the Krispy Kreme of cupcakes.

Crumbs, on the other hand, definitely has substance. They make some damn tasty cupcakes (we opted for the minis, so we could try more flavours). Their frostings aren’t too sugary and flavours are easily identifiable. Definitely the better cupcakery of the 2.

BUT…I know that there are WAY BETTER cupcakes out there…and I challenge you, dear cupcake bakers of Toronto, to show us cupcake enthusiasts what you’re (err, your cupcakes) are made of! Sign up now to be a baker at CupcakeCampTO on May 2nd! There are only a handful of baker spots left, so don’t miss out on your opportunity to shine.

And, what’s a baker without an eater? We need you! Tickets are going fast, and we won’t be selling tickets at the door, so buy your tickets now!

Remember, net proceeds are being donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
If you you don’t like cupcakes, but want to support the Daily Bread Food Bank, click here – you’ve got the option to donate rather than purchase a ticket for CupcakeCampTO. Everybody wins!
